Key Findings on Nationwide TB Awareness and Perceptions Among Filipinos

The survey was conducted over a two-week period. The research team followed a comprehensive process, including instrument preparation, data gathering, result analysis, and report compilation. The survey received 1,205 responses, ensuring a representative sample of the population. The respondents were stratified based on regional distribution, reflecting the demographic proportions derived from the 2020 national census. We are confident that this survey provides valuable insights into public awareness and perceptions of tuberculosis in the Philippines. The sample of 1,205 respondents ensures a high level of accuracy, with a margin of error of ±3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. Subnational estimates for regions have varying margins of error ranging from ±6 percent for Metro Manila, balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. South Korea’s Jungkook, SB19 break internet with high engagements 

The K-pop fever in the Philippines has taken Korean idols to pedestal heights and hooked Filipino fans into the allure of distinct Asian music. Nevertheless, local acts are likewise penetrating the global spotlight and are now breaking barriers in the international music scene. In fact, many of these acts have been propelling various trends into global fads, getting fans all over the world helplessly captured. Not surprisingly, South Korean singer and BTS member Jungkook and the Philippines’ very own SB19 have been shaking up the internet and alternately competing over online dominance. The high volume of reactions is principally credited to the pure-loving fandoms of these pop acts. Together with BTS, Jungkook has established a legion of screaming, loyal fans called ARMY, while SB19 has been consistently growing its worldwide supporters called the A’TINs. These fans remain extremely loyal as their idols head for global domination. This was found out through a study done by Capstone-Intel Corporation from August 27 to September 27 on the online performance of keywords related to the two chart-topping pop acts. It is committed to help its clients solve problems, find solutions, grow markets and constituencies, build reputations, navigate risks, and manage crises; and to be the country’s leading private research and intelligence agency.   Methodology  Capstone-Intel utilized its customized social listening tools in order to gather data across all publicly available posts on social media from August 27 to September 27, 2023, in order to identify the sentiments of users about the topic.   Facebook performance  In terms of post count, the topics “Jungkook” and “SB19’ both yielded 1117 and 1316 posts respectively. This translates to an overall engagement score of 305,350.50 and 358,524.50. Breaking these down, “Jungkook” got over 46,627 comment count, 47,744 social volume, 118,137 share count, and 1,825,508 total reaction count. Meanwhile, SB19 is not far behind with an 82,426 comment count, 83,742 social volume, 116,904 share count, and 2,333,779 total reaction count. The following is a breakdown of the reactions relating to the pop idols. Interpreting the reaction distribution, the overwhelming “like” and “love” reactions for both groups mean Facebook users have positive sentiments for both Jungkook and SB19. Whereas SB19 reached massive engagements when news reports about member Stell’s banter on GMA’s The Voice Generations Philippines went viral. In the episode, he convinces the contestant to choose him as a coach not for teaching music and performance but also by giving away free rice grains. This post garnered a total of 50161.5 engagement scores.   Top sources of discussion In addition, news holds the highest number of discussions or posts that mention the keywords “Jungkook” and “SB19.” This only graphically illustrates Filipino fans’ love for pop music and pop icons both locally and internationally, which makes it newsworthy.
