In the world of basketball, it does not take a lot for a professional player to hit the news regarding events outside of their sport. Case in point: Ricci Rivero.

He then took over social media by storm when allegations regarding his infidelity began to surface, most of which were speculations about his affair with beauty queen and politician Leren Mae Bautista. On October 22, 2023, they formally announced their relationship to the public, and they have once again taken social media by storm. Methodology
From August 10, 2023, to October 10, 2023, Capstone-Intel utilized its social listening tools in order to scan publicly available social media accounts for their posts that mention “Ricci Rivero.” It should be noted that there were no specific demographics or personal data that were tracked.
Results from Facebook performance
Over the course of the recorded time period, the social listening tool was able to identify 105 unique posts on X (formerly Twitter), 26 mentions on Tiktok, 108 mentions on news sites, 32 mentions on various blogs, 97 mentions on various video-streaming websites, and 12 more mentions from miscellaneous websites.
On Facebook specifically, there has been a total post count of 566 unique posts that talk about or even just mention the name of “Ricci Rivero.” Across all of these, the keyword was able to garner a consolidated engagement score of 53,284.4.
In total, there are 33,146 comments across all posts, and the share count for the posts was able to reach up to 12,808 shares. The reaction count was also able to reach a large count of 371,618.
Dominant reaction, top stories
The top story involving Rivero is from Pep.ph’s Facebook page, which has an engagement score of 3,476.5. In this, pictures of both Rivero and his then-rumored girlfriend Bautista were seen on a date in Los Baños, Laguna. The reaction breakdown is as follows: 3577 Like reactions (14 percent), 182 Love reactions (0.7 percent), 21,631 Haha reactions (84.6 percent), 128 Wow reactions (0.5 percent), 13 Sad reactions, and 24 Angry reactions (0.1 percent).
The story with the second highest engagement score is from the Facebook page of Kapamilya Online World, with a score of 2,079.4. In this story, there was another mention of Rivero and Bautista being seen together outside, in the shopping mall. Finally, the third most engaging story comes from Abante News Online. This story narrates a commentary regarding Brillantes’ vlog regarding a game that she played entitled Date or Pass. In it, she mentions multiple professional Filipino basketball players, as well as her former boyfriend, Rivero. Just like the previous stories, it follows a similar reaction pattern. All the top three stories, as well as the rest of the top ten stories, follow this same pattern. In any story that mentions Rivero’s love life, whether that is from the perspective of his own or through Brillantes, his former girlfriend, there is an overwhelmingly significant count of Haha reactions on the posts that mention him.
Based on the overall sentiment reflected on Facebook, it can be observed that stories involving Rivero tend to receive a higher number of “Haha” reactions, despite variations in the emoticons expressed by the public.
