Geraldine Torres-Brillantes

Chief Operating Officer Chief of Development Communication Studies

Geraldine hails from the iconic province of Batangas. Her spunk as a communicator and singer came from great artistic genes. Her mother, Violeta Arrogancia, was a certified UP Los Baños campus figure and coloratura, while Girly’s father, Greg Torres, was a sought after trainer in oratory and speech dynamics.    She was awarded the best director at the 2007 Moonrise Film Festival for her documentary on the ill effects of large scale mining entitled “Sa Ngalan ng Mina.”  She has about 50 video documentaries under her name. Topics include anti-poverty, ecology, indigenous peoples, good governance, sustainable agriculture, education reform, and social transformation.      Girly graduated with a B.S. Degree in Development Communication at U.P. Los Banos and took her Master’s Program in Technology Management at UP Diliman.
