iPhone 14 Receives Positive Reactions from Online Users

On October 14, 2023, the newest product from Apple dropped in the Philippines. The iPhone 14 took the country by storm, and the reviews have been positive. Lines outside Apple stores have reportedly been long, as Filipinos are eager to get their hands on the new unit. Background

The iPhone is the name of the series of cellphones produced by tech company Apple Inc. These units have been infamous over the years for being released every so often, nearly annually.

With the Philippines being dubbed as the “Texting Capital” of the world, it stands to reason that new units of a well-known cellphone brand would be at the top of Filipinos’ priorities on their to-buy lists.

Social media influencers were also quick to snag a few units for themselves so that they could host an iPhone giveaway for their fans and supporters.

 

Methodology

From November 28, 2022 to November 28, 2023, Capstone-Intel utilized its social listening tools in order to scan publicly available Facebook accounts for their posts that mention “Iphone 14.” It should be noted that there were no specific demographics or personal data that were tracked.

 

Facebook performance

Capstone-Intel Corporation’s social listening tool scanned through Facebook in order to garner posts that are about the iPhone 14, or at the very least make mention of the event. The results indicate that there were 7,909 posts in total. Among these posts are 855,861 total comments, 315,259 total shares, and a reaction count of 3,305,156.

This consolidated into a total engagement score of 731,360.7.



Dominant reaction, top stories

The top story about the iPhone 14 comes from influencer Ivana Alawi’s official Facebook page. The story posted was the announcement of her iPhone giveaway. This post garnered 260,471 (49.6 percent) Love reactions, 254,148 (48.3 percent) Like reactions, 10,437 (2 percent) Wow reactions, 564 (0.1 percent) Haha reactions,  478 (1 percent) Sad reactions, and 66 Angry reactions. This led to an engagement score of 72.077.

The second story is one that was posted in the official Facebook page of influencer Pio Balbuena, where he filmed a surprise involving an iPhone 14. This clip garnered 125,637 (67.8 percent) Love reactions, 54,680 (29.5 percent) Like reactions, 4,211 (2.3 percent) Haha reactions, 582 (0.3 percent) Wow reactions, 41 Sad reactions, and 37 Angry reactions. The engagement score for this post was 27,141.3.

Finally the third top story comes from another content creator and streamer, Wamoscruz, in which a Facebook video was posted. This was able to garner 80,404 (42.6 percent) Like reactions, 58,335 (30.9 percent) Love reactions, 46,428 (24.6 percent) Haha reactions, 2,110 (1.1 percent) Wow reactions, 319 (0.2 percent) Sad reactions, and 1,024 (0.5 percent) Angry reactions. This yielded an engagement score of 23,847.
