As Filipino TV culture remains ever-present, individuals exhibit their distinct viewing preferences, particularly when confronted with clashes between programs, such as the competitive ratings of Voltes V: Legacy and Batang Quiapo. In this context, a study was conducted to undertake a comparative analysis of these programs. The research was carried out for a period of one month by Capstone-Intel Corporation.

Capstone-Intel is a high impact research company which uses innovative research technologies, tools and methods to convert data and information to breakthrough insights and actionable intelligence outputs. Capstone-Intel conducted a study from May 5, 2023 to May 22, 2023 on the viewing preferences of Filipino TV audiences, demonstrating the enduring popularity of the local television culture.

Two prominent shows from rival networks, GMA and ABS-CBN, are broadcast during prime time viewing hours. The action-comedy show Batang Quiapo on ABS-CBN made its debut on February 13, 2023, and ran nightly for five days.  To compete with ABS-CBN, GMA created its own program called Voltes V: Legacy, which premiered on May 8, 2023.
