Filipino teleseryes are a staple form of entertainment in the Philippines, with people tuning into their favorite shows throughout the day. These shows gather interest and traction through the plots and characters that steal the hearts of their audience and keep them hooked episode after episode.
Recently, one of the shows from the GMA News Network has made the rounds online. “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” currently tops the charts among the most engaged shows online. Capstone-Intel Corporation looks into the sentiment of the general public, and to understand why it trended online.

Methodology
Last September 15, 2023, Capstone-Intel utilized its social listening tools in order to scan publicly available Facebook pages for their posts that mention the title of the aforementioned show. It should be noted that there were no specific demographics or personal data that were tracked.
The tool itself was able to scan 779 posts with a consolidated 173,557 comments, 55,762 shares, a reaction count of 7,122,819 total, and an engagement score that reached 785,399.5.
Reaction distribution
The total reaction count is broken down into the following: 67.9 percent of the total are Like reactions, 27.9 percent are Love reactions, 3.1 percent are Haha reactions, 0.7 percent are Sad reactions, and finally, both Angry and Wow reactions take up 0.2 percent each of the total.
According to the parameters, both Like and Love reactions are considered positive leaning sentiments in terms of reactions, with them making up an added 95.8 percent of the total reaction count. The date then dictates that the audience generally has a more positive reception amongst its audiences.
Online presence
All the top trending posts for “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” come from the same account, which is the Facebook page of GMA Network. The content of those posts was mostly promotional material for the show itself, as they would post a teaser of an episode with a caption written with the intent of hooking people in to watch it.
All five Facebook posts were all able to reach engagement scores upwards of 15,000, with the top post garnering a total engagement score of 39584.4. It was able to reach this score due to its significantly high reaction count of 360,493. A consistent aspect across all five posts are the videos that were posted along with the teasing captions.
Nuances in the top ten
A parallel study also indicates that topping the list of the most engaging shows on social media is “Abot Kamay na Pangarap.” Following right behind is “Magandang Dilag,” and “Sea of Love.” Both “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” and “Magandang Dilag” boast the highest comment count as well as the highest social volume percentage, which indicate that they are the topic of the most conversations online, with the latter garnering a comment count of 140,045.
While the data shows that “Abot Kamay na Pangarap” is the most popular and well-received teleserye, it is also important to note that “Magandang Dilag” tops in terms of engagement score, garnering a total score of 284,131.7.
